Hey guys, so i was painting yesterday and i put my hair in Scunci's magic bun maker tool thingy.(right)
Priced:$3-5$ I purchased mine at Claire's. IT makes a tight bun,but somehow, it turned into these pretty beachy waves!
Here's how.
1.Take a shower or spray your hair with water to get it damp.( This makes the best results, but if you don'tt have time to sleep with it in or blow dry it, keep it dry. it just makes the waves less defined.)
2.Put in setting lotion.( Feel free to skip this step. I always do.
3.Here's how to put it in!(there are instructions on the package, but if you just wanna how to do it, i'm going to explain.)

Gather your hair into a low-ish ponytail.(Not too low!)
Pull your hair through the middle of the tool.
Now, pull it down half-way.
Just to tell you readers,I have a little over shoulder length hair, but it is layered. My lowest layer is pretty short.
Then, you twist it DOWN, not up.DOWN.
Twist it TIGHT.
Then, once you are done twisting until it is tight to your head,Form the two hooks together.
4. If you chose to make your hair wet/take a shower, You can either choose to keep it in for a while until it is dry, sleep with it in (which i don't really recommend) or blow dry it until it is dry.
If you didn't, then just keep it in for a bit(LIKE 3-infinity hours. :P). Choosing not to make it wet results to a more messy, tousled look.
5. Take it out but unhooking the hooks and pulling the tool out. and BAM!
you have your waves! Just spray it with hairspray and you're done!
Hoped you liked it!

Hey Amy - hope you don't mind me coming over here to answer your question about the Goody rubber bands - but your blogger ID didn't link to an e-mail address. Yeah -those rubber bands are really strong but before I use them I take a couple fingers from both hands and pull on them really hard to stretch them out. Once I've done that they seem a lot easier to work with and like I mention in my video, I reuse them over and over and they never break. Hope that helps.
ReplyDeleteFun info on this hair accessory- who'd of thought you'd get waves from it?! Cool.
Hi, this is Amy!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the tip, I'll be sure to stretch them out that way.
Thanks so much!!! I never would've thought about it either, I was about done with this tool because i didnt like buns, but i realized that i can get waves from it!!
Thanks for responding!
